Accessories for the Kawasaki KX450

The Kawasaki KX450 is a motocross bike built for riding on dirt tracks. Ruts, jumps and repeated practice sessions make different demands from road riding: exposed parts need protection, the bike needs a secure place to rest between sessions, and suspension behaviour matters on uneven ground. Those are useful starting points when deciding what to fit, whether you spend your time practising individual sections or riding full laps.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki KX450

For the KX450, the most useful accessories often have a job to do either on the track or while you are looking after the bike afterwards:

• Protectors: Dirt, flying debris and knocks are part of riding motocross. Protectors help shield exposed areas of the KX450, particularly if you ride regularly or tackle deeply rutted sections. They are worth considering when you want to concentrate on your lines without overlooking the wear that comes with time on a dirt track.
• Stands and sidestands: Once a session is over, a steady support makes cleaning off mud and working around the wheels less awkward. It is also useful when the bike is waiting for its next outing. Think about whether you need somewhere to rest the KX450 during a short break or a more suitable position for jobs in the paddock.
• Suspension: On a motocross track, suspension response shapes how the bike feels through bumps, ruts and jump landings. It is an area to consider if you are working towards a feel that suits your riding and the tracks you use most. Öhlins is among the accessory brands available for the KX450.

It helps to separate what you need while riding from what makes looking after the bike easier between sessions. That way, protection, paddock support and suspension each have a clear place in your plans for the KX450.
