Accessories for the Kawasaki Ninja 400

The Kawasaki Ninja 400 is a sports bike suited to everyday journeys, winding-road weekends and occasional track days. Your balance of those uses helps determine which accessories deserve attention. Wind protection matters on longer road rides, while the way your hands and feet meet the bike becomes especially relevant when you take a more active riding position.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki Ninja 400

• Screens: help manage airflow on motorway stretches and longer outings. Think about the position you spend most time in on your Ninja 400: riding comfortably on the road calls for a different approach to wind coverage from tucking in during a track session.
• Protectors and crash sliders: make sense for a sports bike that also deals with daily parking and low-speed manoeuvres. They can help limit damage to the areas they cover in a stationary drop or slow fall, but cannot prevent every kind of damage.
• Levers: shape how your fingers engage with the brake and clutch. Commuting involves repeated use in traffic, while a winding road puts the emphasis on controlled inputs. Lever shape and reach therefore matter to a Ninja 400 used for both.
• Footrests: provide the contact point for your boots when moving through bends or shifting position on track. On a road-and-track Ninja 400, that support needs to work alongside leg comfort rather than focusing solely on the sportier part of your riding.
• Number plate holders: offer a way to change the appearance of the rear of the bike and emphasise its sporting lines. Their role is primarily visual, making them a different priority from accessories aimed at wind protection or rider contact points.

For a Ninja 400 covering weekday commutes and weekend rides, protection and ergonomics are useful starting points before concentrating on cosmetic changes.
