Accessories for the Kawasaki Versys 650 Grand Tourer

The Kawasaki Versys 650 Grand Tourer is a road-focused adventure bike suited to touring as well as everyday journeys. A ride can take you from motorway stretches to winding country roads and busy town centres, so useful additions go beyond appearance. Wind protection, a comfortable riding position and protection against parking mishaps all deserve attention, particularly when travelling with luggage or a pillion.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki Versys 650 Grand Tourer

• Screens: a priority for riders covering long motorway distances. Screen height and shape affect where airflow meets your upper body and helmet. On touring days, the aim is to manage wind pressure around your seated position while keeping a clear view of the road ahead.
• Protectors, crash bobbins and crash bars: help limit damage to the areas they cover if the bike tips over. They are particularly relevant when a touring ride involves frequent stops, awkward parking spaces or manoeuvring the Versys with luggage on board.
• Handlebars and levers: influence your hand position and reach to the controls. For this mix of touring and everyday riding, a relaxed position on long stretches needs to work just as well when using the clutch and brake through traffic or tighter bends.
• Footrests: worth considering when whole days are spent in the saddle. The foot platform and its position affect leg posture and how easily you can reposition your feet as the route switches between steady cruising and more demanding winding sections.
• Phone mounts: useful for keeping navigation directions visible on unfamiliar routes. Position the phone so it does not obscure the instruments or restrict handlebar movement, and set your destination before you start riding.

For regular two-up touring, assess comfort over the length of a shared day out rather than a quick solo ride. Your riding position should remain manageable through town as well as on the open road.
