Accessories for the Kawasaki Versys 650 Tourer

The Kawasaki Versys 650 Tourer is a road-focused adventure bike suited to commuting, winding weekend routes and longer trips. That mix gives accessories a clear purpose: managing wind exposure on faster roads, keeping your riding position comfortable over distance and adding protection for everyday manoeuvres. Start with the riding you actually do, rather than treating every addition as equally useful.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki Versys 650 Tourer

• Screens: worth prioritising if your journeys involve motorway miles or extended stretches on open roads. A screen helps redirect airflow away from your upper body, but the useful coverage depends on your height and normal riding position, not simply how tall the screen looks.
• Crash bobbins and crash bars: intended to help limit damage in a stationary drop or low-speed fall. For a Versys used on touring trips, they are particularly relevant when manoeuvring with luggage, negotiating tight parking spaces or stopping on uneven ground.
• Handlebars and footrests: your hand and foot positions influence how your arms and legs feel throughout a ride. These are useful areas to address when the same bike handles weekday traffic and full days away, while retaining a comfortable stance for bends.
• Levers: frequent clutch and brake use in town makes finger support and reach to the controls worth considering. On a bike also used for longer outings, the way your hands engage with these controls matters beyond the daily commute.
• Phone mounts: useful for keeping navigation directions visible when a weekend ride or touring holiday takes you onto unfamiliar roads. Position the mount without obscuring the instruments or restricting handlebar movement, and set your destination before getting under way.

For regular motorway riding, tackle wind management first. If most of your mileage is urban with shorter weekend outings, the controls and riding position deserve closer attention.
