Accessories for the Kawasaki VN1500 Mean Streak

The Kawasaki VN1500 Mean Streak is a cruiser suited to leisurely road rides, weekend outings and trips around town. Choosing accessories starts with how you spend your time on it. A bike used for short urban journeys calls for different priorities from one regularly taken on longer rides, particularly when it comes to riding position and wind protection. Styling matters too, but it need not come at the expense of everyday usefulness.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki VN1500 Mean Streak

• Handlebars: On the Mean Streak, the bars help shape both the cruiser look and your riding position. Their height and shape influence your reach to the controls and the angle of your arms, which becomes more noticeable when a quick ride turns into several hours on the road.
• Protectors: Regular town use brings parking and low-speed manoeuvres into almost every journey. Protectors can help limit damage to the areas they cover in minor knocks or stationary drops, making them a practical consideration for a Mean Streak ridden regularly rather than reserved for occasional weekend outings.
• Mirrors: Keeping track of following traffic is particularly useful when changing lanes around town. Mirrors also stand out beside the handlebars on a cruiser like this, so their shape and size affect both the rearward view and the overall appearance of the bike.
• Screens: Longer stretches of open road make wind exposure more noticeable than it is on a short town ride. A screen can divert some airflow away from your upper body, with its size and design determining the balance between wind protection and the Mean Streak’s front-end appearance.

For mostly urban riding, focus first on your position and rearward view. If your weekends involve longer road trips, give wind protection more weight in your plans.
