Accessories for the Kawasaki VN1600 Classic

The Kawasaki VN1600 Classic is a cruiser suited to unhurried road riding, whether that means a weekend outing or several days away. Choosing accessories for this kind of use starts with how you sit and how much wind reaches you. Handlebars and a screen can make a more useful difference on longer journeys than a purely cosmetic addition.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki VN1600 Classic

• Handlebars: The reach to the grips matters when you spend much of a ride in a relaxed, seated position. A shape that suits your riding posture can help you avoid stretching your arms too far or leaning forwards throughout a long day on the road.
• Screens: For rides that venture beyond a short local loop, a screen helps deflect airflow away from your upper body. It is a practical addition to the VN1600 Classic when longer stretches of open road form a regular part of your plans.
• Protectors: Depending on their design, these help limit scuffs and damage to the areas they cover. They are worth considering for the slower side of cruiser ownership, from moving the bike around the garage to parking up at stops along a touring route.
• Mirrors: These balance rearward visibility with the bike’s cruiser styling. On road rides, their position should give you a useful view of following traffic rather than your arms, particularly if a handlebar change has also altered where your hands sit.

Choosing parts for 2003-2005 and 2006-2008 models

The VN1600 Classic changed over the years, so the 2003-2005 and 2006-2008 versions need to be distinguished when choosing parts. Protectors, in particular, are not necessarily interchangeable between them. Choose your bike’s year on this page to see only the accessories that fit your version.
