Accessories for the Kawasaki VN1600 Mean Streak

The Kawasaki VN1600 Mean Streak is a cruiser suited to leisurely rides and open-road outings, with town journeys also part of the picture. Choosing accessories starts with how you spend your time on it: your reach to the bars, exposure to the wind and everyday parking manoeuvres all suggest different priorities.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki VN1600 Mean Streak

• Handlebars: Bar position affects where your hands sit and how you hold your arms and back on longer rides. On the Mean Streak, a handlebar change is a way to shape your riding position as well as the look of your cruiser.
• Protectors: These help limit damage to the areas they cover if the bike tips over at a standstill. They are worth considering for a Mean Streak used around town, where parking and manoeuvring into a garage are regular parts of the ride.
• Screens: A useful addition when short outings give way to longer stretches of open road. A screen redirects some of the airflow away from your body, with its height and shape influencing the balance between wind shelter and a discreet cruiser appearance.
• Mirrors: Their shape can change the bike's appearance, but rearward visibility matters in town traffic and on country roads. Position them so your arms do not fill the reflection, particularly when fitting a different handlebar at the same time.

Why the year matters when choosing protectors

The Kawasaki VN1600 Mean Streak has changed over the years, with 2004-2005 and 2006-2008 versions to distinguish. Protectors are not interchangeable across both versions. Choose your bike's year on this page to display only the accessories that fit yours.

Treat handlebars and mirrors as a combined setup: moving your hands to a new position can also alter what you see behind you.
