Accessories for the Kawasaki VN2000

The Kawasaki VN2000 is a cruiser suited to unhurried road rides, from weekend outings to longer days away. That makes the relationship between your arms, shoulders and handlebars worth considering before making purely cosmetic changes. Useful accessories for this style of riding should support a relaxed position, keep rearward visibility clear and offer protection when moving the bike around at stops.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki VN2000

• Handlebars: On the VN2000, a handlebar change is as much about riding position as appearance. The position of the grips affects how far you reach and where your shoulders settle. For longer road rides, aim for a comfortable reach rather than a stance that leaves you stretching forwards.
• Protectors: Parking, turning around in a confined space and manoeuvring at a roadside stop are different demands from cruising on an open road. Protectors can help shield the areas they cover if the bike tips over, making them a practical consideration for a VN2000 used for regular rides with plenty of stops.
• Mirrors: Mirrors contribute to a cruiser's appearance, but the view behind needs to work from your normal riding position. On the VN2000, consider them alongside the handlebars: changing where your hands sit can also change the relationship between your arms and the mirrors. A clear rearward view matters when joining traffic or preparing to overtake.

For road-focused use, start with the riding position and rearward view, then consider the visual details. The aim is to keep your VN2000 comfortable for relaxed outings without letting styling dictate how you sit.
