Accessories for the Kawasaki Z1000R Performance

The Kawasaki Z1000R Performance is a sporty naked suited to road riding and twisty weekend routes. Choosing accessories means thinking about how you use that character day to day. Commuting involves frequent clutch use and low-speed manoeuvres, while longer outings make wind exposure more noticeable. Changes to the riding position, protection and appearance therefore serve quite different purposes on this bike.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki Z1000R Performance

• Screens: wind exposure is part of naked-bike riding, but it can become tiring when a short run turns into a longer road trip. A screen helps reduce wind hitting your upper body, particularly if your favourite routes involve stretches of dual carriageway between the bends.
• Protectors: using the Z1000R Performance for commuting means parking, turning in tight spaces and moving at walking pace as well as enjoying open roads. Protectors help limit damage to the areas they cover in a stationary tip-over, putting everyday practicality ahead of visual changes.
• Handlebars and levers: frequent clutch operation in town puts the focus on reaching and using the controls comfortably. On winding roads, hand position matters too. These parts let you address the way you sit and interact with the bike rather than simply changing its appearance.
• Footrests: on twisty routes, support through your feet is part of feeling settled on the bike. This contact point also matters during longer rides, when the position of your feet and legs becomes just as relevant as your reach to the handlebar.
• Number plate holders: these change the way the plate sits visually within the rear of this sporty naked. They are a styling choice for personalising the Z1000R Performance, rather than an answer to wind exposure or comfort on a longer journey.
