Accessories for the Kawasaki Z1100

The Kawasaki Z1100 suits riders who mix everyday journeys with outings on twisty roads. Its naked layout makes wind protection worth considering for longer stretches, while time in town puts the focus on comfortable controls and protection against low-speed mishaps. The most useful additions depend on how much of your riding is spent commuting, covering distance or enjoying bends.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki Z1100

• Screens: help deflect some of the airflow reaching your upper body on a naked bike. For the Z1100, they make particular sense when a ride involves motorway miles before the twisty sections, or longer days with sustained exposure to the wind.
• Protectors, crash bobbins and bars: are intended to limit damage to exposed areas in a low-speed fall. They are a practical consideration for a Z1100 used around town, where parking manoeuvres and tight, slow turns are part of the daily routine.
• Levers: frequent clutch and brake use in stop-start traffic makes lever shape and reach important to hand comfort. On winding roads, being able to reach the controls naturally also matters, rather than stretching your fingers each time you need them.
• Handlebars and footrests: help define your riding position on the Z1100. A setup for both commuting and weekend rides should balance comfortable arm reach with leg position, so that longer stretches do not mean spending the whole ride with cramped knees or strained wrists.
• Tail tidies: change the visual finish around the number plate. On a naked bike such as the Z1100, exposed exterior details contribute strongly to its appearance, making this an option for refining the rear end rather than improving touring comfort.

For mostly urban riding, controls and protection are sensible priorities. If your usual routes involve longer open-road stretches, a screen deserves more attention before you turn to cosmetic changes.
