Accessories for the Kawasaki Z1100 SE

The Kawasaki Z1100 SE is a naked road bike suited to weekday journeys as well as weekend rides on winding roads. Those different uses call for different priorities. Motorway miles put wind protection higher on the list, while regular town riding draws attention to control comfort and protection against low-speed mishaps. Start with the parts that address how you actually spend your time on the bike.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki Z1100 SE

• Screens: a useful addition when getting to your favourite roads involves a stretch of motorway. On a naked bike, a screen can divert some airflow away from your torso, with its height and shape affecting the balance between wind protection and a compact appearance.
• Protectors and crash protection: these can help limit damage to exposed areas in a stationary drop or low-speed fall. They make particular sense for everyday use involving parking spaces, garage manoeuvres and repeated stops, rather than serving only as accessories for longer rides.
• Handlebars: bar shape influences where your arms and wrists sit. For a Z1100 SE used both around town and on weekend runs, this is worth considering if your riding position feels awkward, especially as the hours in the saddle add up.
• Levers: their shape and reach affect how comfortably your fingers meet the controls. Frequent use in traffic makes hand comfort important, while winding roads call for easy access to the levers without having to strain or reposition your hand.
• Tail tidies: the rear of a naked bike is visually prominent, making the number plate holder a noticeable styling detail. A tail tidy suits a cleaner-looking rear end, but serves a different priority from adding wind or crash protection.

For mixed commuting and leisure riding, deal with wind exposure and control comfort first. Styling changes can follow once the bike feels right on your regular routes.
