Accessories for the Kawasaki Z400

The Kawasaki Z400 is a naked bike suited to weekday commuting and weekend rides on winding roads. How you divide your time between those two uses helps set your priorities. Protection and comfortable controls make sense around town, while a screen becomes more useful when your regular journeys involve longer stretches of open road.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki Z400

• Screens: a screen helps deflect some of the airflow you face on an unfaired bike. For a Z400 rider, that is particularly relevant on dual carriageway commutes or when a short weekend ride turns into a longer day out.
• Protectors, crash bobbins and crash bars: these help limit damage to the areas they cover if the bike falls. They are a practical consideration for an everyday Z400 that regularly needs manoeuvring into parking spaces or moving around a garage.
• Brake and clutch levers: their shape affects how your fingers meet the controls. On a Z400 used for both stop-start traffic and twisty roads, that contact matters during repeated clutch use in town as well as braking for bends.
• Handlebars: bar choice is closely linked to your riding position. When the Z400 serves as both commuter and weekend bike, the position of your arms and wrists deserves more attention than a styling change alone.
• Tail tidies: these change the appearance of the rear number plate area, drawing attention to the naked bike's lines. Their role is primarily visual, unlike a screen or crash protection chosen to suit your daily riding routine.

Z400 versions and model years

The Z400 has changed over the years, so the 2019-2020 and 2023-2024 versions do not share every accessory. Handlebars, protectors and screens are examples of parts that do not fit both versions interchangeably. Choose your Kawasaki Z400's year on this page to see only the accessories that fit your bike.
