Accessories for the KTM 390 Adventure SW

The KTM 390 Adventure SW suits riders who mix everyday journeys with road trips and unpaved detours. That variety puts riding position, wind protection and protection against falls high on the list when choosing accessories. A setup focused on commuting will have different priorities from one intended for regular trail outings, particularly when you spend more time standing on the pegs.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 390 Adventure SW

• Levers: frequent clutch work in town and on slow trails makes lever shape and reach worth considering. On a bike used for both, a comfortable relationship between your fingers and the controls matters more than simply changing the appearance of the handlebar area.
• Footpegs: these deserve attention if your routes take you off the tarmac and onto sections ridden standing up. The platform and grip influence how securely your boots sit as you shift your weight, while seated comfort still matters on the road home.
• Handlebars: bar shape affects your arm position on road rides and how naturally you can reach the controls when standing. Consider the bars and footpegs together so that improving your trail riding stance does not come at the expense of comfortable seated miles.
• Crash protection and bars: useful for outings involving uneven ground, loose surfaces and awkward low-speed turns. They help limit damage to the areas they cover if the bike goes down, making them a practical consideration when exploring tracks rather than staying entirely on tarmac.
• Windscreens: worth prioritising when a trail ride starts with a lengthy road section. They help manage airflow around the rider, so wind protection becomes particularly relevant if your Adventure SW also handles longer weekend journeys or regular stretches of faster roads.

A phone mount can also be useful for following unfamiliar routes. Position it so that directions remain easy to consult without obscuring the instruments or restricting handlebar movement.
