Accessories for the KTM 990 Supermoto ABS

The KTM 990 Supermoto ABS brings a supermoto approach to road riding, with winding routes a natural part of its appeal. That makes your contact points with the bike worth considering, alongside wind protection when a short ride becomes a full day out. The most useful accessories depend on whether your riding centres on town journeys, twisty roads or longer stretches between them.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 990 Supermoto ABS

• Screens: a useful addition when reaching your favourite roads involves a lengthy main-road ride. With an upright riding position, directing some airflow away from your upper body can make those connecting miles more comfortable without making luggage or touring equipment the focus.
• Protectors and crash protection: worth considering if your KTM handles weekday town trips as well as weekend rides. They can help limit damage to exposed areas in a stationary or low-speed fall, including mishaps while parking or manoeuvring.
• Footpegs: secure foot support matters when moving your body through a series of bends. For this kind of road riding, the peg surface and position deserve attention, together with how comfortably your knees sit during the less demanding miles between twisty sections.
• Handlebars: your bar choice affects the position of your arms and wrists. On a bike used for both urban manoeuvres and winding-road outings, the aim is a comfortable reach that lets you keep your arms relaxed rather than adopting an unnecessarily stretched posture.
• Phone mounts: handy for navigation when exploring unfamiliar back roads. Positioning the phone without obscuring the instruments keeps directions within sight, while giving you a convenient place to check the full route once you have stopped.

For longer outings, tackle riding position and wind exposure first. If most journeys are short and urban, comfortable contact points and protection against parking mishaps are likely to be more useful priorities.
