Accessories for the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 suits adventure riding that carries on beyond the tarmac, from weekend exploring to longer trips with luggage. Getting it ready means considering the whole journey: road miles to reach the interesting tracks, space for overnight kit and protection once the surface becomes uneven. Your balance of road and trail riding is a useful starting point when deciding what to fit.

What riders usually fit to the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

• Panniers: give clothing and touring kit a dedicated place on multi-day rides, rather than keeping everything on your back. If your Himalayan also tackles narrow tracks, consider how much luggage the trip actually needs and the extra width it brings through tighter gaps.
• Screens: help manage wind exposure on the road sections between trails, particularly when a day's route involves sustained riding on open roads. For mixed-surface trips, think about shelter from the wind alongside a clear view of the ground ahead when the going becomes slower.
• Crash bars and protectors: are worth prioritising when exploring unpaved routes, where a low-speed fall can put parts of the bike against the ground. They help limit contact damage, making protection a more practical focus than cosmetic changes for a trail-oriented Himalayan.
• Handlebars: influence your riding position both when seated for road mileage and when standing on the pegs along tracks. A change should take both situations into account, including your reach to the controls, rather than being judged only on the daily commute.
• Phone mounts: provide a place for navigation on unfamiliar back roads and routes linking different trails. Positioning matters on an adventure bike: leave the handlebars free to turn during tight manoeuvres and keep directions easy to consult when you stop to check the route.
