Accessories for the Suzuki DR800

Road miles and unpaved tracks place different demands on a trail bike like the Suzuki DR800. Accessories that suit this mix focus on your riding position and on protecting the bike. A comfortable reach to the bars matters on longer road rides, while control when standing on the pegs becomes more important once you leave the tarmac.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki DR800

Handlebars and protection are sensible starting points for a DR800 used across both surfaces. How much time you spend on each helps determine where to focus.

• Handlebars: The shape of the bars affects your reach and the position of your arms and back. On the DR800, it is worth balancing seated comfort for winding roads with a natural standing position on tracks. A bar chosen for both situations has a clearer purpose than a purely cosmetic swap.
• Crash bobbins and bars: Slow manoeuvres and stops on uneven ground can lead to a loss of balance. These accessories help limit damage if the bike falls, making them particularly relevant to a DR800 whose rides include gravel tracks or regular stops away from paved parking areas.
• Protectors: Riding along tracks creates more opportunities for scuffs and minor impacts on exposed areas. Protectors focus on individual parts of the DR800, complementing crash bars when you are preparing the bike for mixed road and trail riding rather than keeping it exclusively on tarmac.

Choosing parts for your DR800's year

The DR800 has changed over the years, so the 1991-1993 and 1994-1997 versions do not take all the same accessories. Protectors are a key example: a part intended for one version will not necessarily fit the other. Choose your bike's year on this page to see only the accessories that fit your DR800.
