Accessories for the Suzuki RF900R

The Suzuki RF900R brings together sporting appeal and a taste for longer journeys. It suits winding-road rides as well as weekends away, so useful additions depend on how you divide your time between the two. Wind protection and luggage become more important as the miles build, while looking after the controls and adding protection make sense for a bike that also sees regular everyday use.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki RF900R

• Screens: a worthwhile consideration when reaching your favourite bends involves a motorway stretch, or when a short ride becomes a full day out. A screen helps manage airflow around the rider, making wind protection a relevant part of setting up the RF900R for touring.
• Protectors and crash protection: these aim to reduce damage to the areas they cover in certain knocks or falls. For an RF900R used on trips as well as sporty road rides, low-speed manoeuvres and frequent stops are good reasons to consider this type of protection.
• Fasteners: on a faired sports bike, looking after the exterior includes paying attention to its fixings. Replacing missing or deteriorated fasteners is a practical part of tidying up a 1990s RF900R that you intend to keep enjoying on the road, rather than simply putting on display.
• Levers: a route through bends, villages and urban traffic keeps your hands busy at the controls. Replacing damaged or worn levers addresses an important contact point with the bike, particularly when your RF900R serves for both weekday journeys and longer rides at the weekend.
• Luggage: carrying space matters when you make use of the Suzuki's touring character for several days away. It gives your travel essentials a place on the bike rather than on your back, which is particularly useful on longer trips or when travelling with a pillion.
