Accessories for the Suzuki VL250 Intruder

The Suzuki VL250 Intruder is a cruiser suited to everyday journeys and unhurried rides out of town. Its accessories should balance the custom look with the way you actually ride. A relaxed reach to the bars matters on longer outings, while wind protection becomes more useful when your usual route includes open roads rather than just urban streets.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki VL250 Intruder

• Handlebars: changing the bars lets you rethink both your riding position and the Intruder's appearance. Around town, a comfortable reach helps keep your arms relaxed as you steer. For leisurely country rides, avoid a position that leaves you stretching forwards for the whole journey just to achieve a particular look.
• Screens: the exposed riding position is part of the cruiser experience, but sustained airflow can become tiring on longer road sections. A screen helps deflect wind away from your upper body, making it a useful addition if your Intruder regularly takes you beyond town.
• Mirrors: these can complement the bike's custom styling while providing a useful view of following traffic. On an Intruder used for commuting, that view matters when changing lanes. A compact shape or distinctive finish should not come at the expense of seeing past your own arms.
• Protectors: these help limit damage to the areas they cover if the bike tips over. For an Intruder used day to day, parking manoeuvres and low-speed mishaps are practical reasons to consider protection, especially when preserving the appearance of your cruiser is part of its appeal.

After changing the handlebars, readjust the mirrors from your normal riding position. Judge the rearward view from the saddle rather than by how the mirrors look when the bike is parked.
