Accessories for the Yamaha FZ6

The Yamaha FZ6 is a naked bike suited to weekday commuting and weekend rides on winding roads. Setting one up is not just about a sportier appearance. Wind protection for longer journeys, a comfortable riding position and protection against low-speed mishaps can be just as relevant when the same bike handles both jobs.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha FZ6

• Screens: A screen helps divert airflow away from your upper body when an FZ6 ride involves motorway stretches between more interesting roads. It is a useful comfort-focused addition if your weekend outings regularly turn into longer days in the saddle.
• Handlebars: Bar position influences how you sit on this naked bike and how much weight you put through your wrists. For an FZ6 used in town as well as on country roads, a comfortable reach matters more than an aggressively sporty stance.
• Levers: Frequent clutch and brake use in urban traffic makes lever shape and reach worth considering. If your FZ6 is your daily transport, comfortable operation of the controls is a more useful starting point than choosing a finish alone.
• Crash bobbins and crash bars: These can help limit damage in certain low-speed falls. They are particularly relevant to an FZ6 that spends its working week being manoeuvred through tight parking spaces, turned around in garages and parked during everyday journeys.
• Footrests: Your foot position contributes to how you sit and move on the FZ6 through bends. When the bike also handles the commute, preserving legroom is worth balancing against any wish for a more sporting riding position.

FZ6 versions: 2004-2006 and 2007-2008

The FZ6 has changed over the years, so parts are not necessarily interchangeable between the 2004-2006 and 2007-2008 versions. Whether you are considering a screen, handlebars or levers, the model name alone is not enough to establish fit. Choose your bike’s year on this page to see only the accessories that fit your FZ6.
