Accessories for YAMAHA V-MAX 1200

Accessories for the Yamaha V-Max 1200

The Yamaha V-Max 1200 is a muscular custom bike often enjoyed on the open road. A short ride and a full day out can place different demands on the way a bike feels, especially when the route moves from smooth straights to uneven corners. That is why suspension is a useful place to focus when considering accessories for this Yamaha. Rather than adding equipment for a different sort of riding, it lets you think about the feedback and support you want from the bike you already enjoy.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha V-Max 1200

Suspension accessories, including options from Öhlins, are what you will find here for the V-Max 1200. They are particularly worth a look if your rides vary in length or take you across roads with very different surfaces.

• Suspension: on a custom bike that is as enjoyable between bends as it is along a straight, the way the bike settles over a bump or feels under braking matters. The same applies when you pick up the pace again after a corner. Thinking about suspension gives you a practical way to focus on those moments rather than treating every ride as if it happened on a perfectly smooth road. For a V-Max 1200 used for both brief outings and longer road rides, that makes it a relevant part of how the whole journey feels.

This page covers the V-Max 1200 for the years 1986 to 2007. Whether your usual ride is a quick escape or a longer stretch of road, it helps to start with what you notice from the seat and handlebars. The suspension options here keep that part of riding at the centre of the decision, without assuming that every V-Max owner uses the bike in the same way.
