Accessories for the Yamaha WR250X

The Yamaha WR250X is a supermoto suited to city journeys and rides on winding roads. A weekday commute puts the emphasis on watching traffic and working the controls through repeated stops, while a weekend ride brings a different rhythm. Accessories for this bike make most sense when they support those uses, with rearward visibility, protection and the rider's contact with the controls taking priority.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha WR250X

• Mirrors: On a WR250X ridden around town, a useful rearward view helps you keep track of following traffic before changing lanes or turning. Mirrors also influence the supermoto's appearance, but their position in relation to your riding posture matters more on the daily commute than looks alone.
• Protectors: These can help limit damage to the areas they cover in certain scrapes or falls. For a WR250X used both in town and on country roads, protection is worth considering for low-speed manoeuvres and parking mishaps as well as incidents during a ride.
• Levers: Braking and clutch operation are central to both stop-start traffic and a run through a series of bends. Levers are a direct point of contact with this supermoto, so their role in operating the controls deserves more attention than simply changing the bike's appearance.
• Stands and side stands: Supporting the bike when parked is part of living with a WR250X as everyday transport. These accessories address the stops between rides, whether that means parking at work, pausing during errands or leaving the bike in the garage after a weekend outing.

For mostly urban riding, put rearward visibility and protection first. If your WR250X spends more time on winding roads, give the hand controls equal attention when planning your accessories.
