Accessories for the Yamaha XJ600

The Yamaha XJ600 suits everyday road use as well as weekend outings, so useful accessories are not just about preparing for a long trip. Think about the time you spend in traffic, your position at the bars and the stops along your route: these point towards riding comfort and protection as sensible priorities.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XJ600

• Handlebars: A replacement handlebar is worth considering when you want to change how you sit on your XJ600. The reach to the grips and the position of your arms matter both on the commute and during longer stretches of open-road riding. This makes handlebars a practical starting point when reviewing your riding position.
• Crash bungs and bars: An XJ600 used for commuting also spends time being parked, wheeled into place and manoeuvred at low speed. Crash protection can help limit damage if the bike tips over during those everyday movements. It addresses that risk without guaranteeing that every part of the bike will escape unmarked.
• Protectors: For an XJ600 that sees regular weekday use and longer weekend rides, everyday wear is another consideration alongside accidental drops. Depending on the area covered, individual protectors can help shield surfaces from contact or rubbing. They let you focus on particular areas exposed during repeated daily use rather than treating protection solely as a precaution against falls.

Yamaha XJ600: choosing between 1990 and 1991

The XJ600 has changed over the years, so the 1990 and 1991 versions do not necessarily take the same accessories. Handlebars are a key example: a bar listed for one year should not be assumed to fit the other. Choose your bike's year on this page to see only the parts that fit your XJ600.
