Accessories for your Yamaha XV535DX Virago

The Yamaha XV535DX Virago is a cruiser suited to unhurried road rides, weekend outings and everyday trips through town. Its accessories should support that relaxed way of riding rather than simply change its appearance. Good rearward visibility, a comfortable reach to the bars and some relief from the wind are useful priorities, depending on where you spend most of your time.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XV535DX Virago

• Mirrors: keeping an eye on approaching traffic matters when riding the Virago through town or changing lanes. Mirrors also play a noticeable part in a cruiser's appearance, so their shape can complement the bike's character while keeping the rearward view central to your choice.
• Screens: a screen helps divert airflow away from your upper body on open roads. For a Virago used on leisurely rides beyond town, this makes wind protection worth considering even if long-distance touring is not part of your plans.
• Protectors: these can help shield the areas they cover from minor knocks. On a cruiser that doubles as everyday transport, that extra protection is relevant around tight parking spaces and during the slow manoeuvres involved in getting the bike in and out.
• Handlebars: your choice affects how far you reach and how you hold your upper body. The aim on the Virago is a relaxed riding position for country-road outings that still lets you steer naturally through tighter turns in urban traffic.

For mostly urban journeys, give rearward visibility and ease of control priority. If your weekends involve longer stretches of open road, wind protection and a comfortable riding position deserve more attention.
