Accessories for Yamaha XVS1300 Custom

The Yamaha XVS1300 Custom suits relaxed road rides and unhurried trips around town, with custom styling that makes the appearance of an accessory part of the decision. Practical needs still matter, though. Moving between town streets and open roads means keeping track of traffic behind you, while parking at a café or manoeuvring in a garage brings a different set of concerns. For this sort of riding, mirrors and protectors deserve attention for the jobs they do, not simply for how they look.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XVS1300 Custom

• Mirrors: On a custom bike, mirrors are part of the overall look, but their job becomes particularly important when a leisurely ride takes you through busy junctions or onto a multi-lane road. For the XVS1300 Custom, the useful balance is between a shape that suits the bike and a clear view behind from your normal riding position. With your hands on the bars, your arms should not dominate the reflection when you need to monitor following traffic.
• Protectors: These add protection to the areas they cover, with a practical role on a custom used for regular rides and stops along the way. Parking beside other bikes, turning in a tight space or moving the XVS1300 Custom in and out of a garage are all situations where knocks and scrapes can be a concern. Here, protection is about looking after the bike during everyday use, particularly the slow manoeuvres at the beginning and end of a ride.
