Accessories for the Yamaha XVZ1300A Royal Star

The Yamaha XVZ1300A Royal Star is a cruiser suited to unhurried road rides, weekend outings and longer trips. Accessories for this sort of riding should make time on the bike more comfortable without getting in the way of its relaxed character. Your usual route is a useful starting point: stretches of open road place different demands on you from town traffic and frequent stops.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XVZ1300A Royal Star

• Mirrors: a useful rearward view matters when your ride takes you through villages, junctions and busier roads before reaching the quieter stretches. Mirrors are also a noticeable part of a cruiser's appearance, but styling should not come at the expense of seeing following traffic. On the Royal Star, that means balancing the look with a clear view from your normal riding position.
• Screens: worth considering when a short outing becomes a full day on the road. A screen redirects some of the airflow away from your upper body, which can make longer exposed stretches more comfortable. For relaxed touring on the Royal Star, screen height and shape matter because they affect both wind protection and your view of the road ahead.
• Protectors: help shield exposed areas from minor knocks during the less glamorous parts of a cruiser ride. Parking up for a break, manoeuvring in a confined space and making several stops all bring different concerns from riding on open roads. These accessories focus on looking after the bike during those everyday moments rather than changing its road-going character.

If longer journeys dominate your riding, wind protection deserves attention first. For routes with more town sections and stops, give rearward visibility and protection against minor knocks greater priority.
