Accessories for the Yamaha YZF 750 R

The Yamaha YZF 750 R is a sports bike suited to winding roads and rides where the riding itself is the main attraction. A short run along your favourite route calls for a different approach from commuting or spending a weekend away. How you use yours determines whether the riding position, protection or carrying space deserves attention first, rather than treating every accessory as equally useful.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha YZF 750 R

Handlebar accessories feature prominently here, alongside protectors, exhausts and luggage. These are the areas worth considering when setting up this sports bike for the roads and distances you actually ride:

• Handlebars: this is where accessories can help tailor the riding position. On the YZF 750 R, think about how you support your hands through a sequence of bends, as well as the position you hold during slower town journeys or longer stretches on the road.
• Protectors: these help limit damage to the areas they cover if the bike falls. They are a practical consideration for a sports bike used regularly, particularly when leisure rides share the calendar with commuting and frequent parking manoeuvres.
• Exhausts: a way to change the visual finish and sound of your YZF 750 R. For riders who mainly take it out on favourite roads, an exhaust offers a different kind of personalisation from changes focused on riding position or luggage space.
• Luggage: useful when a morning on winding roads turns into a weekend away. Having somewhere to carry clothing and personal items makes overnight trips more practical without relying entirely on a rucksack worn throughout the ride.

Brands available for this model include Puig, Ixil and SW-Motech. A bike kept for occasional rides will naturally call for different priorities from one you also use for touring.
