Accessories for the Yamaha YZF-R6 RACE

The Yamaha YZF-R6 RACE is a sports bike with a clear focus on circuit riding. For track days, accessory choices revolve around how you sit, brace yourself under braking and move across the bike through corners. Riding position and protection therefore deserve more attention than purely cosmetic changes.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha YZF-R6 RACE

• Handlebars and levers: the relationship between your hands and the controls matters when braking repeatedly and changing direction on track. These are key areas to consider when setting up a riding position you can maintain throughout a session.
• Footrests: your feet provide support under braking and a reference point as you shift your weight into a corner. On a track-focused sports bike, that makes the footrest area an important part of your riding position.
• Screens: when you tuck in along a straight, the screen helps deflect airflow around you. Its shape matters in that crouched position, making it particularly relevant to the way the R6 RACE is ridden on a circuit.
• Protectors: exposed areas deserve attention when preparing for circuit use, where a slide can damage parts of the bike. Protectors provide an extra line of defence, although they cannot prevent every consequence of a fall on track.
• Fasteners: removing and refitting parts is often part of preparing a bike between track days. Fasteners serve those assembly jobs, making this category relevant to workshop preparation rather than just the appearance of your R6 RACE.

Stands can also help with preparation and maintenance between track sessions. They serve a different purpose from the accessories used to work on your riding position.
