Accessories for the Yamaha YZF-R6 S

The Yamaha YZF-R6 S is a sports bike, so the accessories worth fitting depend on how you ride it. Twisting roads and occasional track days put the emphasis on your riding position, contact with the controls and protection. If your R6 S also handles weekday journeys, low-speed manoeuvres, parking and keeping it ready in the garage matter just as much.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha YZF-R6 S

• Handlebars: your hands are an important contact point in the YZF-R6 S’s sporty riding position. Accessories for this area help tailor your interaction with the controls to the riding you do. On winding roads, that means precise steering inputs; around town, the emphasis shifts to repeated braking, tight turns and stopping in traffic.
• Protectors: protection on a road-going sports bike is not just for track days. Moving your Yamaha around the garage or manoeuvring into a parking space can also lead to a low-speed drop. Protectors help limit damage to the areas they cover, making them relevant to everyday use as well as more focused weekend riding, without promising to prevent every mark.
• Stands and side stands: garage support earns its place when your sports bike needs attention between road rides or track sessions. Workshop stands make jobs such as cleaning and chain care easier with the bike properly supported. Parking support serves a different purpose, but deserves attention too if regular town journeys mean frequent stops throughout the day.

For track-day use, think about preparation time as well as riding time. Some of the most useful equipment does its work before the bike leaves the garage.
