Puig Footrests

Puig footpegs, or footrests, are the most direct way to swap the stock pegs for ones with a different shape, size or colour. Puig makes them in several ranges, each for a different riding style: Racing, Sport, R-Fighter and R-Fighter S for road and sporty riding; Enduro 2.0 and Trail 2.0 for standing on the pegs; and Heritage and Evolution as design-led options. The same footpeg fits the rider's side and the passenger's side: what changes from one to the other is the bracket.

Which range suits the way you ride

• Racing: a little shorter than the stock peg, at 72 mm long, 27 mm wide and about 90 g. It is the most compact range, aimed at sporty riding.
• R-Fighter and R-Fighter S: similar in size (74.5 by 26 mm and 90 g). On the R-Fighter the colour covers the whole piece; on the R-Fighter S it only shows on the sides.
• Sport: rounds out the road range, in the same nine colours as the Racing and the R-Fighter.
• Enduro 2.0 and Trail 2.0: these have the largest platform, for adventure and off-road riding, where you stand up in chunky boots. They come in seven colours.
• Heritage and Evolution: the Heritage is only made in black, while the Evolution comes in nine colours, including lilac and titanium.

The bigger the platform, the better it supports your boot, but the further it sticks out, which is why a sports bike usually calls for a compact one. If you want a universal peg for riding off the tarmac, the Puig off-road footpegs have a category of their own.

From the colour to the missing part

The last letter of the part number gives the colour: 6301N is the black Racing, 6301R the red one and 6301V the green one. The other letters are A (blue), O (gold), P (silver), T (orange), L (lilac) and Y (titanium).

To fit them you need the bracket for your bike, one for each side. Its name gives the model and years, and many sets cover bikes from two brands, such as "several Honda and Yamaha models", so compare the list on the product page with the year of your bike. With the fixed adapters the footpeg stays where the original was; if you would rather change its position, the adjustable adapters let you move it to another spot.

Finishing the look
