Puig headlight protectors

A headlight protector is a clear shield fitted in front of the lens so that stones flicked up by the vehicle ahead, especially on gravel tracks and loose-chipped roads, do not crack or pit the headlight. Puig makes them to measure mainly for the adventure bikes that leave the tarmac most often: Ténéré 700, R 1300 GS, Africa Twin, Transalp, Multistrada V4, DesertX, Tuareg 660 and the KTM Adventure family.

Two systems: rigid or Adhere

The "Protector faro" models are rigid shields with mounts designed for each bike, sitting just ahead of the lens. The Adhere models, as the name suggests, stick directly onto the headlight and follow its shape, so they barely change the look of the front end. As well as adventure bikes such as the 1290 Super Adventure, 890 Adventure, 2025 NC750X or R 1300 GS, they cover recent nakeds and sports bikes like the CB1000 Hornet, Z900, 990 Duke, S 1000 R, Streetfighter V2 or Panigale V4, whose LED headlights also take stone chips on the road.

Watch the year: headlights change between generations, so the 2019-2024 Ténéré 700 does not share a protector with the 2025 bike, and the R 1300 GS and R 1300 GS Adventure each have their own. Almost all are clear, with a part number ending in W, so the beam comes out just as it would without one. Clean it like a screen, with water, mild soap and a soft cloth, avoiding anything containing alcohol or ammonia.

The front end of an adventure bike is completed by a screen suited to your trips, which you will find among the Puig windscreens, and by Puig deflectors, which steer the air away from your body. Every other part Puig makes for the front end, and beyond, is listed under Puig.
