SHAD Tie-Down Straps

The SHAD tie-down straps are spares for holding the load inside the case: a strap that keeps what you carry in place so that it does not shift under braking or over bumps. There are six part numbers: five starting with D1B (D1B36CGR, D1B45CGR, D1B46CGR, D1B48CGR and D1B59CGR) and the X1SW09.

Getting the right one

Each strap goes with particular case models, and one from a different case may not fit the anchor points or have the right length. Compare the part number with that of the strap you are replacing or with the one in your case's manual. If you cannot find it, check with us, quoting your case model, before ordering.

When to replace it

• The webbing is frayed or cut: a damaged strap stops holding the load and can come loose under hard braking.
• The buckle slips: if the strap does not stay tight, it is not doing its job.
• It has gone missing: it is a small part that easily gets lost when you empty the case.

A strap holds the load but does not spread the weight: heavy items low and central, and never above the maximum load stated by your case's manufacturer. If you are also renewing the base, there are the SHAD mounting plates and hardware, and the SHAD TOP cases and the rest of the range are under SHAD.
