SW-MOTECH Frame Sliders

SW-MOTECH frame sliders are pucks fitted to the frame, the engine or the wheel axles so that, if the bike goes down, the slider takes the scrape instead of the fairing, the brake caliper or the swingarm. SW-MOTECH makes them model by model and sorts them by the area they protect, which is also the easiest way to find yours.

One part for each area

• Frame: this is where most kits are. The slider comes out of the chassis on each side of the engine and covers the flank of the bike.
• Front axle: sliders on the front wheel axle that keep the fork legs and the caliper off the ground.
• Rear axle: the same idea at the back, for the swingarm and the wheel rim.
• Engine: there are only a few kits, such as those for the Honda CB650R and CB1000R, and they fit to the engine instead of the chassis.

Frame and axle sliders do not overlap: some look after the flank, the others what sticks out at the front and the rear.

Which bikes have a kit

Mid-size and large nakeds and sports bikes dominate: Kawasaki Z900, Z900RS and Ninja 650, Yamaha MT-07, MT-09, MT-10 and XSR900, Honda CB650R, Triumph Speed Triple, BMW F 900 R and G 310 R, plus several Ducatis. When the name says «various models of…», the same part fits several bikes from those makes; the exact list of models and years is on the product page.

How many to fit, and when to move up to a crash bar

If you are only going to fit one set, the frame sliders cover the most. If you will ride on trails or with luggage, the SW-MOTECH crash bars cover more, and a skid plate closes off the underside. How a slider works and where its limits lie is explained in our engine guards section. If you are unsure which area to pick, message us on the chat with your model and year.
