SW-MOTECH Crash Bars

The SW-MOTECH crash bars are tubular frames made for your model that bolt to the chassis and keep the impact of a fall away from the engine. The brand offers them from a city 125 up to the big adventure bikes, and almost all are black, although some finishes depend on the bike.

Finishes by bike

• Black: nearly the whole range, for Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, Ducati, Royal Enfield, CFMOTO, Moto Guzzi, Harley-Davidson and many more.
• Orange: the KTM ones, such as the 790/890 Adventure, the 1290 Super Adventure or the 1290 Super Duke R.
• Stainless steel: those for the most recent BMWs, such as the R nineT, R 1250 GS, F 900 GS, R 12 or R 1300 GS. For the older R 1150 GS and R 1200 GS there is a silver finish.

From a 125 to an adventure bike

They are not only for adventure bikes. There are crash bars for the Honda CB125F, the Kawasaki Z125 or the KTM 125 Duke, for roadsters such as the Yamaha MT-03, the Suzuki SV650 or the Triumph Tiger Sport 660, for the Honda X-ADV and the Harley-Davidson Nightster, and for big tourers such as the Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports, the Ducati Multistrada V2 or the BMW S 1000 XR. Some cover several models at once, such as those for Triumph, Ducati, Husqvarna and KTM, and their product page gives the full list.

Crash bars, frame sliders or skid plate

SW-MOTECH also makes frame sliders, more discreet and lighter, and skid plates, which protect the underside of the engine. They can be combined according to use: the crash bar covers the sides and the skid plate takes the hits from below. The general comparison of crash bars, sliders and other protectors is in motorcycle crash bars.

Points to check

• Model, years and version: the frame and its mounting points change from one generation to the next.
• If you are going to add side cases or a skid plate, confirm on the product page that they fit together.
• The «filter by your bike» strip above the listing takes you only to the crash bars that suit your model.

And if the crash bars are part of a bike being set up for travel, the rest of the range is in SW-MOTECH.
