Ixil Decat Pipes

An IXIL decat pipe is a tube that takes the place of the section of the exhaust that houses the stock catalytic converter, so the gases flow out without passing through it. It is a part for bikes that run on track, where riders want a freer, lighter exhaust with a more open sound, and each part number is made for a specific model and year range, just like a silencer.

What changes when you fit one

The catalyst is one of the heaviest and most restrictive parts of a modern bike's exhaust, especially on Euro 4 and Euro 5 models. Replacing it with a straight pipe saves weight, lets the gases out with less resistance and raises the volume and tone of the exhaust. In return, the bike emits far more than its approval allows, and on Euro 5 bikes with a sensor after the catalyst the engine warning light may come on: the ECU often needs remapping for the engine to run cleanly.

Why it is for track use only

• The catalyst is part of the emissions type approval the bike was registered with: without it the bike no longer complies, and there is no way to make it road legal.
• It would fail a roadworthiness inspection, and riding it on public roads leaves you open to fines.
• Track days have limits too: many circuits and organisers measure noise, so it is wise to run a silencer with its baffle behind it.

Finding the right one

Part numbers start with KIT or, on the CB 650 F and CBR 650 F and several 400 and 650 CFMOTOs, with NOBOX. They change with the bike's generation: the Z 900, for example, has different decat pipes for the 2016-2019 92 kW model, the 2020-2024 one, the A2-restricted version and the 2025-2026 bike. The Voge 900 DSX and QJMOTOR SRT 900 have two part numbers for the same bike, ending in C1 and C2: compare their product pages before choosing. The brands with the most options are Kawasaki, Honda and the KTM, Husqvarna and CFMOTO group, with part numbers from 125 to 890 cc.

What to pair it with on track

The decat pipe only replaces the catalyst section; behind it you keep the stock silencer or fit an aftermarket one, depending on the bike; if you are unsure which suits yours, ask us on the chat before ordering. If your bike has a version among the IXIL RC or IXIL RB silencers, the whole set stays within the same brand. Keep the original part: you will need it the day the bike goes back on the road.

If what you need is an exhaust for road riding, start with our motorcycle exhausts section, which explains what can be road approved, or with the IXIL lines for your model.
