IXIL RB Exhausts

IXIL RB exhausts are the black version of IXIL's Race Xtrem line: a short, race-style silencer in AISI 304 stainless steel with a black finish, TIG welds and a Big Flow end cap. They suit riders who want to change the sound and look of their naked, sports or adventure bike without the exhaust outshining the bike, as black works with dark engines, frames and wheels.

RB compared with other IXIL lines

The RB shares its line with the IXIL RC exhausts, which have a satin stainless body and a carbon fibre cone cap; on some models the part number is identical except for the last two letters, such as CM3263RB and CM3263RC for the 790 Duke. Choosing between them is mainly a question of finish. If you like black but prefer a twin horizontal outlet, look at the L3XB line, and to see every range from the brand, go to IXIL.

Bikes covered by the RB

One of the strengths of this line is that it reaches bikes with little aftermarket exhaust choice:

• 125s and A2 licence bikes: CB 125 R, MT 125, GSX-S 125, Duke 125 and 390, MT-03 or the CB 500 family.
• Brands that have grown fast in recent years: CFMOTO, Voge, Benelli, QJMOTOR, Zontes or Royal Enfield.
• Mid and large-capacity nakeds and sports bikes: Z 900, Trident 660, Daytona 660, MT-09, GSX-8S, Hornet 750 and 1000, Speed Triple 1200 or ZX-10R.
• Adventure and sports tourers: Transalp 750, X-ADV, R 1300 GS, Tracer 9, Ninja 1000 SX or Ninja H2 SX.

Before you order

• Model, years and version: the part number changes with them. On the Z 900, for example, there are different RB silencers depending on the year and on whether it is the 92 kW version or the A2-restricted one.
• Road approval: check on the product page whether the version for your bike is approved for road use. An approved silencer carries a stamped E-mark and approval number, and must be fitted with its baffle.
• Catalyst: IXIL decat pipes are for track use; on the open road, removing the catalyst takes the bike outside its type approval.
• Fitting: after the first few miles, check that clamps and brackets are still tight, as they settle with the heat.

If you are still weighing up IXIL against other brands, or a silencer against a full system, our motorcycle exhausts section explains the differences.
