IXRACE Desert Exhausts

The IXRACE Desert exhaust is built for adventure and dual-sport bikes: a long silencer with a 125 x 100 mm hexoval section and a length of 430 mm, an AISI 304 stainless steel body and a carbon fibre tip. It has a rally-raid look that suits adventure bikes such as the Ténéré 700, Transalp or DesertX, but also nakeds and crossovers going for that style.

Two finishes, one per bike

The Desert comes in two finishes, and each bike gets its own, not both:

• Stainless (part number ending in SC), in bright steel: Aprilia Tuareg 660 and Rally, Ducati DesertX, Honda NT1100, Husqvarna 701 Supermoto, KTM 690 Enduro R and 690 SMC R, KTM Duke 790 and 890, and Yamaha Ténéré 700 and World Raid.
• Black (ending in SBC), with a weathered look: Honda XL750 Transalp, CB 750 Hornet, Forza 750 and X-ADV, plus the Triumph Tiger 850 and 900 GT and Rally and Tiger 1200 GT and Rally.

A long silencer: what it means

Compared with a short cone like the MK2, the Desert takes up more space and weighs more, around 2.8 kg, in exchange for a far more off-road look. It is held in place with a clamp. If you run side cases, check that the rack on the exhaust side leaves room for a 43 cm silencer; the racks for each bike are in our luggage racks section.

Road approval

Most Desert silencers carry CE approval, but not all: those for the Tuareg 660, DesertX, 701 Supermoto, KTM 690 models and the Tigers do not, so they are intended for use off public roads. Each product page states whether it is approved and for which version of the bike.

If your adventure bike is one of the newest

For the latest big adventure bikes, such as the KTM 890 Adventure, Tiger 900s from 2024 on or Ténéré 700s from 2025 on, IXRACE has a separate line, the GOBI, all steel and in black; you will find it under IXRACE, together with the rest of the range. Once your bike is saved in your garage, the bar above the list tells you how many Desert silencers fit it and lets you narrow the list to those. And if you are wondering what changes when you go from a silencer to a full system, we cover it in motorcycle exhausts.
