Accessories for the Honda CRF450R

The Honda CRF450R is a motocross bike made for riding off-road. On a motocross track, protection, control feel and suspension behaviour matter more than luggage or touring comfort. There is also the time between riding sessions to consider: mud and dust make cleaning and routine upkeep part of a typical day with this bike. The accessories worth considering reflect both what happens while you are riding and the work you do once you stop.

What riders usually fit to the Honda CRF450R

• Protectors: ruts, stones and the occasional fall are part of motocross riding. Protecting exposed areas makes particular sense when you practise regularly or ride on tracks where the surface changes throughout the day.
• Levers: clutch and brake control are central to riding through corners, jumps and slower sections. The feel at your fingers is especially noticeable when you move between seated and standing positions on the CRF450R.
• Suspension: bumps, landings and braking on loose ground all put demands on the bike's suspension. It is an area to consider if you want its response to suit the way you ride and the type of track you use.
• Stands and side stands: keeping the bike steady between sessions makes it easier to clean away mud, inspect exposed parts and work around the wheels without having to hold the bike upright.
• Filters: dusty conditions are familiar territory for a motocross bike. Paying attention to filters fits naturally into the maintenance routine that comes with riding the CRF450R on dirt.

Think about the ground you ride most often before deciding what to fit. A dry, dusty track and a muddy practice day place different demands on the bike, but protection, precise control and straightforward upkeep remain useful priorities for either.
