Accessories for the Kawasaki Z1000

The Kawasaki Z1000 is a sporty naked bike that suits winding-road rides as well as everyday journeys. Choosing accessories means balancing those two uses: wind protection becomes more relevant on longer road runs, while comfortable controls matter in stop-start traffic. There is also room to personalise its stripped-back appearance without making that the main focus of every change.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki Z1000

• Screens: With the exposed riding position of a naked bike, wind pressure can become more noticeable as journeys get longer. A screen helps divert airflow away from your torso, making it a useful addition for Z1000 rides that include motorway stretches.
• Crash bungs and bars: These aim to keep certain parts of the bike away from the ground in a fall. For a Z1000 used around town, they are worth considering alongside the realities of parking manoeuvres and low-speed riding.
• Levers: The contact between your fingers and the brake and clutch controls matters both in traffic and on a twisting road. Replacement levers offer a way to tailor that contact, particularly if your daily Z1000 ride involves frequent stops.
• Footrests: Your feet provide support when moving through bends and during longer periods in the saddle. On the Z1000, footrests belong in the same riding-position considerations as the handlebar, rather than being treated simply as cosmetic details.
• Number plate holders: A less visually prominent holder can give the rear of the Z1000 a cleaner appearance. This suits a styling-focused update that highlights its sporty naked character, rather than changing your riding position or wind protection.

Choosing parts for your Z1000's year

The Z1000 has changed over the years, with 2003-2009, 2010-2013, 2014-2016 and 2017-2020 versions to distinguish. Parts such as screens, protectors and levers are not interchangeable across all of them. Choose your bike's year on this page to see only the accessories that fit your version, rather than relying on the Z1000 name alone.
