Accessories for the Kawasaki Z1000 SE

The Kawasaki Z1000 SE is a sporty naked bike suited to winding-road rides as well as everyday journeys. Choosing accessories starts with how you use it: longer road trips put wind exposure into focus, while commuting brings riding position, easy access to the controls and protection during parking manoeuvres further up the list.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki Z1000 SE

• Screens: wind exposure becomes more noticeable on a naked bike when a short ride turns into a full day out. A screen can help deflect some of that airflow on motorway links and open roads. Its shape and height work together with your riding position, rather than in isolation.
• Protectors and crash protection: worth considering when your Z1000 SE handles weekday parking as well as weekend bends. These accessories can help limit damage to the areas they cover in a stationary drop, although they cannot prevent every scrape or broken part.
• Handlebars and levers: the control area matters when you switch between stop-start traffic and longer stretches of road. Being able to reach the brake and clutch naturally is useful around town, while a comfortable arm position helps you avoid riding with unnecessary tension on a longer outing.
• Footrests: foot placement is part of both an engaged riding position on twisty roads and comfort over distance. On a sporty naked such as the Z1000 SE, it makes sense to consider the footrests alongside the handlebar position, since both affect how you sit on the bike.
• Number plate holders: an option for changing the appearance of the rear end and the way the plate is presented. On the Z1000 SE, their role is mainly visual, complementing the naked-bike styling rather than improving comfort for your next road trip.

For a mix of commuting and weekend riding, wind management, protection and riding position are sensible starting points. Bolts, covers and caps can then address the smaller finishing details.
