Accessories for the Kymco New Downtown 125i

The Kymco New Downtown 125i is a scooter suited to everyday town riding and journeys between nearby towns. Choosing accessories starts with the way you use it: a commute through stop-start traffic places different demands on you from a route with longer stretches of open road. Wind protection, comfort at the controls and security when parked are all useful priorities for this kind of riding.

What riders usually fit to the Kymco New Downtown 125i

• Windscreens: help deflect airflow when your commute takes you beyond sheltered town streets. For a New Downtown 125i used on regular journeys between towns, managing wind exposure is likely to be more useful than focusing on cosmetic changes alone.
• Protectors: help shield the areas where they are fitted from minor knocks and scuffs. They make particular sense for daily scooter use involving tight parking spaces, frequent stops or manoeuvring the bike by hand before setting off.
• Brake levers: junctions, queues and traffic lights mean repeated use of the brakes on urban journeys. Replacement levers give you an opportunity to focus on the contact between your fingers and the controls you use throughout a stop-start commute.
• Phone mounts: provide a secure place for your phone when navigating to unfamiliar addresses rather than following your usual route. Set your destination before riding and pull over somewhere safe if you need to change it during the journey.
• Security locks: are particularly relevant if your New Downtown 125i spends the working day parked on the street. They also have a role during shorter stops for errands, adding a security measure whenever you leave the scooter unattended.

For a commute mixing town streets with open roads, start with wind protection. If your routine centres on short trips and frequent parking, the controls and a security lock deserve closer attention.
