Accessories for the Suzuki GSX1200

The Suzuki GSX1200 is a naked road bike suited to everyday journeys as well as time out on winding roads. How you use yours sets the priorities for accessories. For town riding, the relationship between the bars, riding position and mirrors matters most; on longer outings, managing wind exposure and finding somewhere for your luggage become more relevant.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki GSX1200

• Handlebars: a different bar can alter your reach and hand position. For a GSX1200 used on both urban streets and country roads, a comfortable reach helps you manage low-speed manoeuvres without adopting an unnecessarily stretched riding position.
• Screens: worth considering when your rides involve motorway stretches or longer days on the road. On a naked bike like the GSX1200, a screen can redirect some of the airflow away from your torso rather than leaving you fully exposed.
• Mirrors: these influence the bike's appearance, but their everyday role is keeping following traffic in view. That matters on a GSX1200 moving between busy junctions, lane changes and faster roads, where you need a clear picture behind you.
• Protectors: can help limit damage to the areas they cover if the bike tips over while stationary. They make sense for an everyday naked that regularly needs to be parked or manoeuvred in confined spaces around town.
• Luggage: gives clothes and other overnight essentials a place on the bike for weekends away. When you take the GSX1200 beyond your usual local routes, carrying those items in cases means you do not have to keep them in a rucksack.

If you are replacing both the handlebars and mirrors, consider them together: changing your riding position can also affect your view in the mirrors.
