Accessories for the Yamaha SR125

The Yamaha SR125 suits everyday journeys and unhurried rides along quieter roads. Its classic style lends itself to straightforward additions rather than an elaborate makeover. The useful starting points are wind protection, a comfortable reach to the handlebars and a clear view behind you. How much time you spend in town or out on open roads will determine which deserves the most attention.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha SR125

• Screens: a screen helps redirect airflow away from your upper body once your route leaves the shelter of town streets. For an SR125 used for commuting and occasional country rides, this adds useful wind protection without turning the bike into a dedicated touring project.
• Handlebars: a different handlebar shape can alter your hand position and how far you reach forward. On daily urban journeys, the aim is a relaxed riding position that does not leave you stretching through repeated turns, traffic lights and low-speed manoeuvres into parking spaces.
• Mirrors: junctions and lane changes make rearward visibility a practical priority on a town-going SR125. A useful view should show more than your own arms. Mirror shape also offers a way to keep the bike's classic appearance consistent, rather than adding a visually distracting detail.
• Protectors: daily parking and moving the bike through confined spaces bring a different set of concerns from riding on open roads. Protectors can help limit damage to the areas they cover during minor knocks or falls, making them a practical consideration for an everyday SR125.

For mainly urban use, focus first on riding position and the view behind. If your regular route includes longer stretches of open road, a screen becomes a more worthwhile addition.
