Accessories for the Yamaha XV1600 Wild Star

The Yamaha XV1600 Wild Star is a cruiser suited to relaxed road riding, from an afternoon outing to a longer trip. Setting it up is as much about your time in the saddle as its custom look. Your reach to the bars, the wind you feel on open roads and your view of following traffic all help determine which accessories deserve attention.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XV1600 Wild Star

• Handlebars: the height, width and sweep of the bars influence where your hands sit and how far you reach. For unhurried miles on the Wild Star, a relaxed arm position matters more than appearance alone, particularly when a short weekend ride turns into a full day out.
• Mirrors: these contribute to the cruiser look while keeping following traffic in view through town and during lane changes. Their position relative to your arms is worth considering alongside the handlebars, since a different riding posture can change how much of the mirror your arms obscure.
• Screens: useful when your riding includes longer stretches of open road rather than mainly local trips. A screen helps redirect some airflow away from your body, with its shape and height affecting both the shelter it offers and the appearance of the Wild Star’s front end.
• Protectors: relaxed cruising still involves parking, turning and manoeuvring between stops. Protectors provide an additional barrier around the areas they cover and may help reduce damage from minor contact or low-speed mishaps, depending on the individual part’s design.

After changing the handlebars, reset the mirrors while seated in your normal riding position. Treating hand position and rearward vision as one adjustment helps keep a custom cockpit practical as well as visually coherent.
