Accessories for the Yamaha XVS1100 DragStar

The Yamaha XVS1100 DragStar is a cruiser suited to relaxed road rides, weekend outings and everyday journeys. Accessories for this sort of riding are less about a sporting set-up and more about your riding position, wind exposure and awareness of traffic behind you. Handlebars, mirrors and a screen are therefore sensible starting points when deciding how to equip your bike.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XVS1100 DragStar

• Handlebars: help determine your reach to the grips and the position of your arms and back. On a cruiser such as the DragStar, getting that riding position right matters when a short afternoon outing turns into several hours on the road.
• Mirrors: give you a view of following traffic when riding through town or changing lanes. They also play a noticeable part in the DragStar’s cruiser styling, so they deserve consideration alongside the handlebars rather than as an isolated finishing touch.
• Screens: help deflect some of the airflow away from your upper body on open roads. They make particular sense if your relaxed weekend rides involve longer distances or stretches of faster roads, where wind exposure becomes more noticeable than around town.
• Protectors: add protection against minor knocks to the areas they cover. For a DragStar used both for daily journeys and leisure rides, they offer a practical way to look after the bike rather than focusing solely on changes to its appearance.

Choosing handlebars for your DragStar’s year

The XVS1100 DragStar has changed over the years, and not every handlebar fits both the 1999-2000 and 2001-2002 versions. Choose your bike’s year on this page so that it shows only the accessories that fit your particular DragStar.
