Accessories for the Yamaha XVS1100A Drag Star Classic

The Yamaha XVS1100A Drag Star Classic is a classic-style cruiser suited to unhurried road rides, weekend outings and everyday journeys through town. Accessories should support that relaxed approach rather than turn it into something it is not. A comfortable reach to the bars matters when the miles build up, while wind protection and a useful rearward view take priority according to how much open-road or urban riding you do.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XVS1100A Drag Star Classic

• Handlebars: bar height and reach influence where your hands sit and how you hold your shoulders. For relaxed cruising on this Yamaha, the aim is a position that lets you settle into the ride without stretching forwards or keeping your arms uncomfortably high.
• Mirrors: these are a noticeable part of a cruiser's appearance, but their everyday value becomes clear in town traffic. Look for a balance between the Drag Star Classic's traditional styling and a rearward view you can use comfortably from your normal riding position.
• Screens: a screen helps reduce wind pressure on your upper body when your route heads out of town. It is a worthwhile addition for longer stretches of open road, where sustained exposure to the wind can make an otherwise leisurely ride more tiring.
• Protectors: these help shield the areas they cover from scuffs and minor knocks. They are particularly relevant when weekend cruising is mixed with daily use, frequent garage manoeuvres and parking stops where there is limited room around the bike.

Settle on your riding position before deciding how much screen coverage you want: where you sit and how upright you ride influence the wind protection that feels useful on your usual routes.
