Puig Anodized Bolts

Puig anodised bolts let you swap the visible bolts and nuts on the bike for coloured ones, in blister packs of six. There are socket-head, button-head and self-tapping bolts, and plain and self-locking nuts, in blue, yellow, lilac, black, silver, red and green.

Bolt, nut or self-locking nut

• Socket-head (Allen): cylindrical head with a hex socket, in M5 (15, 20 and 25 mm), M6 (between 15 and 55 mm) and M8 (between 30 and 55 mm).
• Button-head: rounded, low-profile head, in M5 (15, 20 and 25 mm) and M6 (20, 25 and 30 mm). There are also self-tapping button-head bolts in M6, 20 and 30 mm long.
• Nuts in M5, M6 and M8, plain and self-locking: the self-locking ones have an insert that grips the thread and they work loose less under vibration.

How to read a name

Take "Blister 6 Tornillos Allen M6x30mm Amarillo Puig 0258G": six bolts with an M6 thread, 30 mm long, in yellow. The final letter repeats the colour: G is yellow, A blue, L lilac, N black, P silver, R red and V green.

Where to use them and where not

Anodising is done on aluminium, which is softer than steel. Use these to hold fairings, screens, covers, mirrors or light brackets, and keep the original steel bolts on brakes, suspension, axles and anything that carries load. Tighten without forcing: an overtightened aluminium bolt deforms or snaps.

For a racing screen there are dedicated kits with a wider head, under anodised screen bolts. And if you want to repeat the colour elsewhere on the bike, Puig bar ends come in several shades. The brand's other parts are under Puig.
