Accessories for your Zontes 125U1

Equipping a Zontes 125U1 for daily journeys calls for a different balance from preparing it for longer road rides. Around town, riding position and protection against minor mishaps deserve attention. Once your journeys take you further afield, managing wind exposure becomes more useful. Start with the parts that address how you actually spend your time on the bike.

What riders usually fit to the Zontes 125U1

• Screens: for a 125U1 used on open roads as well as urban streets, a screen helps divert airflow away from your upper body. It becomes a more worthwhile addition when a short hop across town turns into an extended stretch of uninterrupted riding.
• Handlebars: hand position shapes your posture, whether you are making tight turns in town or following a winding road. On a Zontes used for both, handlebar choice is worth considering to keep your arms and wrists comfortable through repeated daily journeys.
• Crash protection: parking and low-speed manoeuvres are regular parts of commuting on a 125U1. Crash protectors and bars help limit damage from a minor fall, making them particularly relevant if your routine involves getting the bike into and out of confined parking spaces.
• Phone mounts: navigation is useful when your Zontes takes you to unfamiliar addresses during the week or along a new route at the weekend. A mount holds your phone for navigation; set the route before leaving and stop somewhere safe to make changes.
• Levers: stop-start traffic means using the controls repeatedly over relatively short distances. For a 125U1 spending much of its time in town, lever shape and reach matter because they affect how comfortably your fingers operate the controls throughout those frequent stops and pullaways.

For mainly urban use, focus first on riding position and protection. If longer road rides become part of your routine, give wind protection more weight.
