SW-MOTECH SLC Side Carriers

The SW-MOTECH SLC side carriers are the most compact and discreet of the brand: they hold a bag or a small case on each side without the bulky tubes of the adventure bikes. It is the system with the most listings of all, designed for nakeds, retro bikes, scramblers and light machines.

Which bikes take SLC

• Nakeds and roadsters: Honda CB500 Hornet, CB750 Hornet and CB1000R; Yamaha MT-07 and MT-09; KTM 125, 390 and 790/890 Duke; Suzuki SV650; Triumph Trident 660.
• Retro and classics: Triumph Bonneville, Thruxton and Speedmaster, Moto Guzzi V7 and V9, Kawasaki W800, Royal Enfield Classic 350, HNTR 350, Meteor or Himalayan.
• Adventure bikes: Honda XL750 Transalp, KTM 390 Adventure, Yamaha Ténéré 700, Husqvarna Norden 901, Ducati DesertX or Aprilia Tuareg 660.
• Customs: Honda Rebel, Kawasaki Vulcan S and Harley-Davidson Nightster and Sportster S.

Sold one side at a time

Each SLC is sold on its own, left or right, with its own part number. A pair of bags needs both sides; a single bag needs only one. That is handy if you want luggage on one side only, and an easy slip if you forget to add the second. Cases of the SLC system, such as the URBAN ABS, fit these carriers, and to hang them on a PRO or V-LOC carrier there are adapters. Save your bike in your garage and the bar above the listing tells you how many SLC carriers are made for it.

SLC, V-LOC or SLH

Several bikes appear in more than one system, such as the Transalp, the MT-09 or the Himalayan 450. The practical difference lies in the fastening and the luggage: V-LOC carriers use a magnetic guide and suit the bags of that family; SLH carriers are for custom saddlebags; and the SLC is the discreet carrier for the bags and cases of its own system. To see the five options side by side, they are compared in side carriers for cases and bags.
